: The COVID-19 pandemic is having a significant impact on the provision of non-COVID-19 related clinical services. Early recommendations for head and neck reconstructive surgery were based guidance from expert groups, advocating de-intensification surgery. Since then, patient outcomes derived data has suggested that continued practice upon pre-pandemic standard care safe if appropriate measures are in place screening segregation pathways patients. In addition, adequate levels personal protective equipment (PPE) vital both patients healthcare team. We present current within UK National Health Service (NHS) era following areas: testing/screening, patients, potential future role immunisation against SARS-CoV-2, airway management, selection type reconstruction, post-operative rehabilitation. produced reflect evolving nature response NHS to pandemic, some protocols could differ local policies various parts world however principles which underlie these standards results regular review needs health service, balanced background ebb flow prevalence infection community settings.
